“By 2050, an additional 2.5 billion people will be living in cities. Some will be living in brand new cities, while others will be living in existing cities requiring reshaping, rethinking and retrofitting. This rapid increase in urban population challenges us to develop new approaches to imagining, making and managing future cities.”
– Stephen Cairns, FCL Programme Director
Future Cities / Challenges is the first annual conference of Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) in its second phase. It will showcase the progress FCL researchers have made one year into the programme towards addressing the challenges, grand and everyday, that confront us all in this urban age. The conference as a whole will focus on the challenges that future cities pose for researchers, planners, designers, and the society at large. Read more about the conference themes here.
We welcome the wider FCL community, colleagues, partners, and interested parties to join us in this dialogue at the conference. Please register here.
